• The bristles are meant for landfill. They are not biodegradable due to the nylon component, and curbside recycling likely won't accept due to the bristles' small size. In total, this will result in less than 0.01 ounces of plastic waste, a dramatic improvement from plastic toothbrushes. Using pliers, it is easy to remove the bristles from the head. Doing so will also remove a small metal staple that is used to clamp the bristles to the handle.
• The bare toothbrush handle can be disposed of in a commercial composting bin and will safely return to the soil within 6 months. However, the handle is a perfectly good piece of high quality bamboo – feel free to reuse it! 
• The wrapper is home compostable to European and American standards. The outer box is biodegradable and recyclable.
