Natural Rubber Latex Mattress - The Serenity

The Serenity mattress has a core of 8 inches of natural rubber in two layers (6" and 2") and incorporates a new feature common to many higher-priced mattresses... each side of the bed may be customized to suit each partner!  You can choose either a medium or a firm 6" layer of natural rubber for the level of firmness that you prefer. This is always topped off with a 2" layer of soft natural rubber for sumptuous comfort, while not sacrificing proper lumbar and shoulder support.  All of this is zippered into sumptuous, removable, quilted cotton jersey cover.  So, if in future years you decide to replace any component due to damage or personal preference, you may do so without the need to replace the entire mattress!   Other benefits of this unique method of construction are the ability to air out your mattress to keep it fresh, as well as ease of movement if you move house, or change bedrooms!

The Good Planet Serenity mattress has been developed by a quality Canadian family-owned company that makes nothing but organics!  There's no danger of contamination from "non organic" product lines, and no worries about anything "unnatural" being incorporated into your mattress.

The Serenity mattress is composed of three natural materials, and nothing else! 

• Two customizable core layers of pure natural rubber for superior comfort and support
• A layer of pure wool for heat regulation, and which acts as a natural fire retardant
• An outer ticking of certified organic cotton jersey for breathability, comfort and good looks

The Rubber

The rubber is tapped from plantation grown, pesticide free Hevea brasiliensis (rubber tree) and within hours of collection, is baked into the block of rubber (the "Dunlop" process) that forms the basis of your mattress.  Other processes and manufacturers can add up to 80% cheap petrochemical additives, but not us! Your mattress core consists of 100% pure natural rubber, with 0% synthetics!  (Certified by Eco Institut, Cologne, certification # 1009-12242-001)

The Cotton

The outer cover of your mattress is made of GOTS-certified organic cotton. This strong yet breathable outer cover makes your mattress breatheable, comfortable and luxurious to the touch.  And the lack of insecticides and pesticides contained in regular cotton makes it healthier too. 

Please Note

1.  A pure natural rubber mattress requires a ventilated foundation!  A standard store-bought boxspring is encased in nylon and does no allow for adequate ventilation. We recommend either a standard bed frame with wooden slats, spaced at least 2" apart, or the purchase of a Good Planet Company foundation unit.  This is constructed of untreated, seasoned, kiln-dried Canadian spruce, covered in a layer of certified organic cotton. (no synthetic glues, dyes, or finishing sprays are used in any stage of production)

2.  Delivery is included in the price of Good Planet Company Mattresses!  Other companies will charge you up to $700 to recover freight charges.  In addition, customers in the Victoria area receive free "white glove setup and box removal" service from our local delivery company. (Outside Victoria, local delivery services deliver to your door, but are not able to provide in-home setup services)   Are you located in another province, state, or a northern community?  Our price includes delivery to 95% of communities within continental North America.
