For three years (1999-2002) we owned a property in the Haliburton Highlands of Ontario, Canada. We dedicated Straw Hollow to simplicity, relaxation and the exploration of sustainable building and homesteading.

Straw Hollow is situated a few kilometres from the village of Gooderham. The eleven environmentally protected acres are part wetland, part woodland and part cleared land, upon which we built two environmentally friendly structures.

The first structure we built, after which the property was named, is a straw bale cabin. The second structure is a yurt.

Straw Hollow was our full-time residence during the spring and summer of 2002, however, as our plans evolved and our financial situation changed, we made the decision to sell the property and move to BC, where future adventures await!

Here's how we sold Straw Hollow, with some in-depth information about the property
